Growing

Faith is a journey, and at First Baptist, we place a high value on helping each other along that journey. We encourage each participant in the church to be engaged in some kind of intentioned spiritual growth opportunity throughout the year. We recognize that people are at different places in their journey of faith so we try to provide opportunities that meet you where you are. We also know that people learn differently. Some enjoy discussion groups; others prefer to on their own. Whatever your learning style we are certain that you can find something at First Baptist that will provide the nourishment you need for your journey. Faith is a journey that lasts an entire lifetime. As a church, we embrace a discipline of life-long learning that will help each person grow, engage and move forward in faith. Here are some of the opportunities we have right now to cultivate a deep and lasting faith.

  • Mid-Week Bible Study: Genesis - Every Wednesday in the Conference Room at 10:30 am

pastor Curtis teaches this in depth Bible study every week for those who are home during the day.  In this calss we pick a book of the Bible and learn about it as we read every word over several weeks.

  • Bible Study at the Burnett’s – Every Wednesday at 7:00 pm

Every Wednesday evening a small group gathers to encourage one another through pray and study of God’s Word. New people are always welcome. See the Burnett’s for the address or call the office.

  • Inquirer’s Class – Three week class beginning on January 16, 9:30 am in the Library.

This class is designed for those who are new to First Baptist Church. It is a chance to ask questions, learn about Baptists and about how we at First Baptist “do” church.
