Who We Are:

The LGBT Christian Fellowship is part of the Small Group Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Salt Lake City. We are a loving group of gay and lesbian people who strive to follow Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose:

The purpose of our group is to provide a safe space for LGBT people to consider the claims of Christ, to grow in their personal relationship with God and to integrate their sexuality and their spirituality.

Our Vision:

We envision a world where all people are accepted as they are . . . children of God, fully loved by God, without regard to sexual orientation or gender identity, and who have joined together to advocate for the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons within our communities of faith.
A world where all people are allowed the freedom to explore and experience the abundant life promised by Christ.
A world where the Church is a sacred place of spiritual healing, growth and connection with God and others.
A world where, in the best of Baptist tradition, the Soul Liberty of each person is edified and respected.
In other words…..Heaven on earth!!

What We Do:

LGBT Christian Fellowship meets twice a month, often in members’ homes. Activities include group discussions on a variety of issues, service projects and social events. These activities provide opportunities for members to be part of a community of gay Christians within the larger community of faith.
