Reverend Ellis Keck, Pastor Emeritus

Ellis is excited about our congregation and about our potential, and is glad to be a part of our spiritual and inclusive growth together as a band of disciples to Jesus.



Dennis McCracken, Office Administrator and Organist

Dennis McCracken comes from Twin Falls Idaho where he was the director of music, organist and administrator for a large Episcopal church for 9 years.

He has lived in Salt Lake City for 8 years. Dennis has been our organist since Dec, 2002 and our administrator since Sept 2004.  He has an extensive background in church music, musical theater, Barbershop singing and choral music. 

Dennis is also a recognized floral designer having spent 33 years in that business and does all the Chancel flowers and decorations of the Sanctuary for special occasions. In his spare time he teaches piano and does vocal coaching, loves to cook and garden.



Beth Bruce, Music Director

Beth Bruce is the Music Director at First Baptist Church, as well as the Youth Choir Director. She has been attending FBC since 1998.

 She has been a member of Sweet Adelines International since 1971. With over thirty years of experience in barbershop and music education, she brings a variety of talents to Mountain Jubilee.

Beth has been a chorus member, quartet singer, regional champion, international finalist, member of the international judging program, certified director, and active barbershop coach.

Beth's teaching experience includes a career in Idaho as an Elementary Music Specialist K-6. Beth shared barbershop harmony with her students and included many young performers in the life of the award winning Idaho Falls Chorus, which she directed for over a decade.

Beth received the 1998 MENC/Sweet Adelines International Music Educator Award for contributions and service to Music Education.

Beth has many years of stage experience and expertise in the craft of barbershop harmony. Now a resident of Salt Lake City, Beth teaches in her private vocal studio, teaches sixth grade at Parkside Elementary, directs the Cathedral Choir at First Baptist Church of Salt Lake City, and is the Associate Director of the world class Sweet Adeline Chorus: Mountain Jubilee Chorus.

Beth currently sings tenor with the internationally known finalist quartet Rainbow Collection.

Bob Brown, Building and Grounds

He began going to FBC in 1990. Shortly after, Pastor Stan Smith asked if he would do floor maintenance and cleaning for the Church. This led him to eventually chair the Property and Facilities ministry team. In his off time, he enjoys and works in his yard. Bob has a backyard pond that is a work of love and an ongoing project.

"I'm also a Mozart fanatic and often you will find me listening to one of his piano concertos. Another of my favorite pasttimes is hiking on one of the Wasatch Mountain trails."

Bob has been married to his wonderful wife Lil for over thirty years. They have two wonderful children, Ben and Emily; and two dogs and numerous fish and frogs in their pond.
