Main Sanctuary

The Main Sanctuary at First Baptist Church is our largest and most distinguished event space—an inspiring venue that seats approximately 750 guests across two levels. With soaring ceilings, expansive stained-glass windows, and two elegant columns of wooden pews, the sanctuary provides a warm, reverent, and visually stunning backdrop for major gatherings.

Guests typically enter from the main floor, while the traditional narthex—located at the rear of the sanctuary—features a striking stained-glass image of Jesus praying and offers direct access to the central courtyard, creating a graceful indoor–outdoor flow for events.

The sanctuary is equipped with a high-quality sound system, wireless microphones, a grand piano, and the second-largest pipe organ in Utah, making it an exceptional venue for concerts, ceremonies, and performances that call for rich acoustics.

Accessible ramps from the parking lot ensure easy entry for all attendees, and the sanctuary’s size and layout make it one of the largest public meeting spaces in East Salt Lake City. It has hosted numerous community political debates, civic forums, choral performances, and significant cultural events. It is also a favored venue for The King’s English Bookshop, which brings nationally recognized authors for readings and book signings.

Conference Room Availability

Located on the second floor of First Baptist Church, overlooking the peaceful courtyard, The Conference Room offers a comfortable, well-equipped setting for small groups and focused gatherings. Conveniently positioned next to Keck Social Hall, the space is easily accessible with an electric stair-lift chair to ensure all guests can participate.

Designed for productivity and connection, the Conference Room seats up to 12. It features a large TV equipped with Zoom Room virtual meeting capabilities, making it ideal for hybrid events and remote participation. A full-size whiteboard is also available for planning sessions, workshops, and collaborative discussions.

Perfect for 12-step groups, social clubs, leadership teams, or committee meetings, the Conference Room provides a private, supportive environment where ideas—and people—can truly thrive.

Located on the first floor of First Baptist Church in downtown Salt Lake City, The Parlor offers a charming and versatile gathering space ideal for small receptions, meetings, and intimate celebrations. Overlooking the church courtyard—which also serves as our Child Development Center’s playground—the Parlor provides a bright and welcoming atmosphere with easy access to outdoor space.

Furnished with a piano, comfortable couches, and a dining table, the room combines elegance with homelike comfort. It’s especially popular for pre- and post-ceremony gatherings, as it sits steps away from the Skaggs Memorial Wedding Chapel.

The Parlor accommodates approximately 24 guests for seated events or up to 50 for standing receptions, making it the perfect setting for meaningful connections, conversation, and celebration.

Young Adult Room

The Young Adult Room is a welcoming second-floor space designed for small groups and focused conversations. Overlooking the parking lot, this intimate room offers a bright, comfortable setting ideal for planning sessions, leadership meetings, or community groups seeking a quiet place to gather.

To ensure full accessibility, the space is served by an electric stair-lift chair, making it easy for all participants to reach the room. Seating for approximately 10 people creates an atmosphere conducive to collaboration, while the included whiteboard provides a practical tool for brainstorming, lessons, or guided discussions.



Whether you’re organizing a team meeting, hosting a study group, or leading a community gathering, the Young Adult Room offers a relaxed and functional environment where ideas—and relationships—can grow.

Gymnasium

The Gymnasium at First Baptist Church offers a bright, spacious, and flexible ground-level venue ideal for both recreational activities and large community gatherings. Easily accessible from the parking lot, the gym is fully lighted and heated, making it a comfortable choice year-round.

This multi-purpose space features a full-size basketball court and can also be configured for two pickleball courts, making it perfect for youth programs, sports leagues, fitness activities, or friendly games. For non-athletic events, the gym can be paired with Keck Social Hall—connected directly to the space—and transformed into additional gathering or overflow space with floor coverings.

Guests are asked to wear appropriate non-marking footwear when using the gym floor to help maintain its quality and safety.
